The Elk Cloner is a virus which is attached to Apple II Operating System and spread by floppy disk. The Elk Cloner virus is spread by infecting the Apple DOS 3.3. It was attached to a game and it was set that after the 50th start up of the game it would release the virus. the screen would go blank and display a poem. The poem reads:

A copy of a virus will be placed in the computers memory and when an uninfected disk is inserted it infects the disk as well.
